I am a former architect who is embracing fascination with art that preceded my architectural education. After studying, practicing, and teaching architecture and design for more than 50 years I am now a painter.
My paintings are oil on canvas depicting scenes of landscapes and landmarks including the St. Louis area and my travels. I use hue and value to generate mood and interest. Lost edges and abstract imagery allows the viewer’s intellect to construct the scene.
My paintings offer the observer an impression of a scene and are created to initiate a cognitive challenge and capture nuance of place.
